Hello, my name is Big Scary, and this is my cool website.
Sorry that the place is such a mess. I'm still rather inexperienced with this whole website creating business One day I hope to create the hippest rest stop on the internet superhighway. Uh, what?
For now, you can experience the short-lived magic of some of my old game projects, chat with your fellow lost travelers in the Chungus Forums, or read the unhinged ramblings in my personal blog.
More content and activities will surely be arriving soon. I hope you enjoy your stay here at Chungus dot Net!
New Content
This is the new shit. The stuff that has been created or updated in the last month or so:
- I tried Slay the Spire 2, and wrote about it in the Blog.
- I watched an Adam Sandler movie, and had some thoughts. Unfortunately, due to the amount of profanity used in the review, it had to be posted on the Chungus After Dark section of the website...
... And, that's about it. Sorry, I haven't been up to much on here lately. Been rather preoccupied lately.
New Game now available!
Slay the Chungus (working title) is an AI assisted clone of Slay the Spire. You can play it in your web browser. Chat GPT has been helping me make this game, because my mind is too much of a goopy mess to code on my own anymore. There is a new update now. You can now inflict a status effect on enemies. The card pool is a little more interesting, and there is a new enemy. In the next update we (uh, I) will be adding a boss, along with some additional cards and enemies. Check out the code for a preview of the boss. Maybe one day we will add actual graphics? I don't know yet. Probably will add relics and card upgrades next though.
Update 2: We now have relics in the game. What a video game. How did we do it? Well, I just asked Chat GPT what to do, and it did all the thinking for me. (I exaggerate - I did do a little bit of thinking myself.) Oh, the boss is also in the game, if you can get through 8 grueling enemy encounters on the way there. (By that I mean monotonous...) How do you count the encounters? Fuck if I know. The game doesn't tell you what is happening. Actually the game tells you very little about what is happening at all. If you haven't played Slay the Spire; this game is probably incomprehensible. Maybe we'll add tooltips and make the damage values on cards actually reflect the effects of statuses one day. For now though, the next update will add more cards, more enemies, and some exciting card upgrades! When will the game have graphics? I don't know? The AI can't draw for me. (Well, actually it could...)
Update 3: I don't know what this game is anymore. Why did I add an enemy just called "Pervert"? I probably added other stuff to the game. Somehow the game has gotten really difficult to complete, though I don't really know why. There's another boss if you can somehow make it through the second "act" of the game. I put "act" in quotations because the game never tells you that there are acts. You just kinda fight the first boss, heal, then do some more battles, and eventually there's another boss. But, the game will totally screw you over by randomly creating an enemy encounter with like 3 "Angry Bastards" that will all hit you for 12 repeatedly. Very bad game. Keeps getting worse.
Update 4: Why is this "Update 4"? Where is the first update? Why am I putting all of these updates on the beginning of the main page? I have many questions related to this game that I have been creating. Another one is why? Just why... Why am I making a clone of Slay the Spire in the first place? I don't really know. But it's coming along. There are now potions. So that's good. Should make fighting Republicans and Perverts easier. (Those are enemies in the game, by the way. Another strange decision related to this game...) Just make sure that you use the potions; otherwise you won't be able to pick up more - as there is no way to discard a potion yet. Currently the game gives you one every combat, so don't worry about running out. There may be something broken. There usually is. I would say to report a bug, but there is no way to do so... Goodbye for now.
Update 5: The game now has the technology to show you if the numbers on the cards have gotten bigger or smaller. Same with enemy attacks. This should be a huge improvement towards making the game good and stuff. Uh, it took me a few hours to get working though, because I kept breaking things, and Chat GPT was only somewhat helpful. I was going to make it so that cards can be dragged and dropped onto enemies, but I didn't understand the poor AI's explanation there. So for now, you can at least watch the cards update their numbers by hovering the mouse over an enemy that is vulnerable. Don't know what we're doing next. We will find out tomorrow probably.
I don't know
By popular request, we are bringing the Chungus back to Chungus dot Net. The website just isn't the same without him.
Oh, and here's the test version of the Chungus Retro Audio Player:
